MEET OUR PASTOR
He's been our pastor for four years and says that he is so very glad to be a part of the Ocala SDA Church.

Jesus said, “I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Because of this statement many good things are happening in our church. Just think of the blessings each of us receive on a day-by-day basis from God. While I cannot list every blessing that comes to us, here are a few good things that have been planned at OSDA.
First of all our Church Board has asked George and Stephanie Asencio and Peter Orta to lead out in our Children and Youth ministries. Accordingly they will attend the Florida Conference “Integrated Youth Ministries Convention” to be held at Camp Kulaqua in October. This has been set up to better meet the needs of our children and youth.
A Marriage Enrichment Weekend is being planned to be presented by Gary and Tannye Johnson. This seminar’s purpose is to strengthen the bonds of marriage for those couples who will attend. These meetings will begin on a Friday evening and conclude on Saturday with a showing and discussion on the film “Fireproof.” The number of couples will be limited so watch for announcements and further information.
Donna Swinyar, our Health and Temperance leader, has arranged with our own Dr. Pedro Orta to present three or four Vespers programs regarding the control and elimination of pain. For the first Vespers program on September 11 Pedro will explain what pain is, why we have pain, and why pain is a benefit to our well-being. In addition to this Donna is planning a health fun walk and run. Other good things will be coming from this department.
In December a week-of-prayer will be presented by Elder Dwayne Lemon. Dwayne came out of the Hip-Hop and R & B entertainment world and is now preaching for Jesus encouraging his listeners to develop and maintain a personal relationship with Him. Dwayne combines this focus with a medical-missionary message. He believes that the three angel’s message (Rev. 14:6-12) is a practical way to prepare for Christ’s second coming. On Friday evening of this week we will celebrate our Candlelight Communion.
As if this weren’t enough are more things being planned? Yes! And it is hoped that these things will be a blessing to both our members and our community.
Never stand still or be satisfied with the status-quo, but move forward by following Jesus.
Pastor Dave
