JUNE 2012
When: Sunday, June 10th – St. Augustine Day Trip
Time: Meet at Church at 8:45 a.m., Drivers Needed
Where: Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the U.S and has a lot to offer. We will probably start at the Visitors Center where we can park for the day. There we can plan our adventure either by teaming up with a friend or explore on your own. Major historic places include the Fort Castillo de San Marcos, the “Fountain of Youth”, the Lightner Museum, Old Town Trolley Tours, Ripleys Believe It or Not, and many more attractions. There are many unique shops and places to eat. Depending on your interests, there could be much walking, so wear comfortable walking shoes. We will arrange for a time to meet when our adventure is over for our return home.
Costs for the day will be your share of parking and gas for the drivers. Otherwise, any other costs will be what you wish to spend. If you wish to bring your own lunch, I’m sure there will be places to picnic; either around the fort or the “Fountain of Youth”.
Sign-up sheets will be on the bulletin board.
